Blown away with the stunning cottage in a stunning location. Jean was an amazing host who checked in with us prior to our stay, to ensure everything met out needs. Greeted with a welcome basket which exceeded our expectations and such a nice touch. Cottage had everything we needed & more & was in mint condition. We have thoroughly enjoyed our 5 days and can’t wait to be back. Till next time.

Lovely cottage and warm welcome. Really good welcome pack with everything we could need to make the day stress free. Had two good meals at the Blue House- very good value at £16 for 2 main courses. Can recommend a walk at Nose’s Point, Seaham and accessible for a wheelchair user. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back to stay here.

Following our stay last year we had to come back, we booked all three cottages and have had a great week. Everything you could need is provided for and the welcome pack is the best we have ever received, the location is amazing with so many things to do around the area and such a variety there is something for everyone. Beamish museum is a must as its only 30 minutes away. And to top all of this Jean & Amy are brilliant hosts and want to make sure you enjoy your stay. When we came last year we arrived as guests and left as friends, it was great to see our friends again. Andrew & Sue.

We have had a perfect few days at Hazel Cottage. Jean and Amy were fantastic- so friendly and shared lots of useful info about the area. We had a fantastic day in Durham and a day at Seaham beach. Would highly recommend the cottage to everyone. The ‘welcome pack’ was great too. Thank you!!

Thank you Jean & Amy for all you have done for us this week. It is very much appreciated. From the warm welcome to the loan of ‘aids’ to make our stay more comfortable still and from the welcome hamper to the recommendations for places to visit. We had a really memorable holiday, visiting Seaham, Killhope Wheel, Washington WWT, the Durham Heritage coast, Seaton Carew, the Tees barrage and finally, best of all, Saltburn by the Sea. Fabulous beach of firm sand and a fish and chip supper from the Seaview Restaurant- take away (highly recommend) and a floor show of surfers until the sun set. Easy to park and plenty of loos including a fantastic Radar key loo in the Valley Gardens car park. We came home every night to a warm house and lovely comfortable beds. We will be back! We received a warm and friendly welcome when we arrived and we settled in very quickly. The cottage has been just perfect for our needs and the area has so much to offer when it came to places to see and visit. The week seems to have passed all too quickly and we are sorry to be leaving. The welcome pack has been enjoyed throughout the week and we have lovely memories to take with us. An amazing welcome followed by a great stay. The cottage is very comfortable with enough space for the kids to roam around! They loved having the animals close by and we loved the quiet atmosphere. Everything was exceptionally clean and so many things were provided, which we really enjoyed. Jean and Amy are amazing hosts with a great place to stay. Spent a wonderful week here at Kestrel Cottage. Equipped with everything needed to make it feel home from home. With one member of our party disabled we were unsure as to its suitability, but we were very pleased with our choice, and Jean & Amy more than happy to do their utmost to make sure you have everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
